Class Information
Mrs Hobin, the nursery class teacher, would like to welcome you to our class page which is a window into daily life in nursery. In nursery we are very lucky to be supported by Miss Lyon and Mrs Tierney and we work very closely with the rest of the Early Years Team in reception. If you have any questions or concerns about anything in reception please do not hesitate to speak to any member of staff.
We are always very busy in nursery and love to share our learning with you so don't forget to check back on this class page regularly to keep up to date with all our news and photographs. Don't forget to access the weekly school newsletter, as well as the website, for up to date information and key dates.
Our full school day starts at 8:45am and finishes at 3:15pm. Our morning session finishes at 11:45am, and our afternoon session begins at 12:15pm.
You are welcome to send a change of clothes including shoes and socks to keep in Nursery as accidents do sometimes happen and we also love to explore, play and get messy. Please always send your child with a coat as we will go outside even when it rains.
If there is anything else you would like to be included on the nursery class page please do not hesitate to ask.
A Window Into Nursery
We now use the Class Story on Class Dojo to share our learning with you. Please turn on your notifications on Class Dojo so that you get our regular updates and any reminders about special events that might be happening in nursery. If you need any help to log in to Class Dojo please speak to a member of staff.
Please note that Class Dojo should not be used to send messages to staff as it is not monitored.

Links To Our Focus Rhymes
Click the links to listen to, learn and sing along to the nursery rhymes. If you are unsure of the words we have included a copy of the written rhyme and we have also attached puppets or sequencing cards.
You can use the puppets to:

Look at the puppets with your child, talk about them, and name the characters.

Ask your child if they know which nursery rhyme these characters are from.

Say/sing the Baa Baa Black Sheep rhyme using the puppets.

Repeat the rhyme, pointing to the words, and encourage your child to join in.

Let your child hold and move the puppets as they say the rhyme, helping them if necessary.

Say the rhyme up to a point, then pause for your child to fill in the rhyming word, e.g.

Adult: "Baa, baa, black sheep, have you any..." Child: "wool!"

Adult: "Yes, sir, yes, sir, three bags..." Child: "full!"

You can use the sequencing cards to:
- Place the cards face up in front of your child. Talk about the pictures. Can your child guess which nursery rhyme they come from?
- Sing or say the nursery rhyme together.
- Put the cards in front of your child in any order and ask them to put them in the correct order. Say the rhyme together to prompt and check the order.
- Ask your child to muddle the cards for you to order. Encourage your child to say the rhyme to check. It's more fun if you get it wrong the first time!
